Trade was vetoed and Paul says he will not report to Hornets camp.  Stern felt the heat from the owners, and actually vetoed it.  I can't believe it.

10:14 p.m Update:  The trade may get vetoed.  There is outrage everywhere and this is getting ugly.  Keep an eye on this situation.  Stern is in muddy waters here.

If the Knicks get Chandler, they might be interested in making a trade with New Orleans, including Amare Stoudemire for Chris Paul.  Keep an eye out.

12/8/2011 1:34 p.m - Tyson Chandler
Ken Berger of CBS Sports reports that the Knicks are preparing a huge deal for Tyson Chandler.  He also reports "one scenario in Chandler deal has Billups being traded. Amnesty also a possibility."  This would be a huge deal, and aside from the deal itself, it would lead you to wonder what ramifications it would have with Chris Paul.  Would there be a way to trade players now to get him?  Or would this signal the end of the Knicks hopes of signing him this year.  We will have to wait and see what plays out.Update 4:02: Deal is on the "1 yard line", reportedly a 4 year, $60 million deal.

12/8/2011 9:55 a.m - Albert Pujols

It doesn't look like the Marlins deal is going to hold up when compared to the deal by the Angels that is a 10 years worth over $210 million and a Cardinals offer reportedly over $220 million.  There is also a "mystery" team involved in the bidding.

12/8/2011 9:55 a.m - Yu Darvish
Darvish will become available for MLB bidding today.  The righty posted a 1.44 ERA, 276 k's, and 36 walks last year in the Japanese professional league.  It will be interesting to see if the Yankees get into the bidding, and if so, how high will they go for the 25 year old pitcher.

12/6/2011 12:15 a.m - Dwight Howard and Chris Paul
According to CBSSports, the Lakers would offer deals for both Paul and Howard.  L.A has the players to trade for the two, as they would probably deal Bynum, Odom, and Pau Gasol if they were to get these deals done.  Take it for what you may, but it is going to be interesting to see what happens as we approach the beginning of the season.

12/5/2011 3:06 p.m - Brett Favre

It is being reported that Favre would listen if Chicago called him.  That's all.  If I were calling the shots in Chicago though, what would I have to lose?  He has reportedly been keeping in football shape. If he has then if it makes the difference in making the playoffs or not, then why not go for it?

Bell, who was almost sure to be traded at last seasons trade deadline, was finally dealt yesterday to the Marlins.  He will receive $27 million over 3 years, with a fourth year, $9 million option.  The Marlins have apparently shown interest in almost every free agent and player who is open for trade this offseason.  They are trying to fill their new stadium this year and are ready to spend to do so.

12/2/2011 2:41 p.m - Chris Capuano

Chris Capuano has signed a 2 year deal worth $10 million with the Dodgers.  A good pickup for the Dodgers, if Capuano can stay healthy.  I wouldn't expect more than 20 starts out of him though.
